Ho-Chunk Nation Employees Celebrated at Annual Appreciation Picnic in Tomah

By Kaili Berg

Ho-Chunk Nation employees came together under sunny skies on Friday, July 18, for the Nation’s annual Employee Appreciation Picnic at Winnebago Park in Tomah, WI.

The event, organized to recognize and celebrate the hard work of Ho-Chunk non-gaming employees throughout the year, featured food, games, prizes, and plenty of camaraderie.

The day kicked off early with employee sign-in between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., followed by a welcome address at 9:30 a.m. Food trucks rolled into the park by late morning, serving up a variety of lunch options from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Door prizes were handed out in the afternoon, with the festivities wrapping up around 4:00 p.m. with closing remarks.

In addition to great food and socializing, the picnic featured a full slate of activities for employees to enjoy.

Events included golf at Hiawatha, disc golf at the Fireman’s Park, cornhole and volleyball tournaments at Winnebago Park, and a free throw contest and cardboard boat races later in the day.

Bingo also proved to be a popular mid-morning activity, bringing participants together in a relaxed, competitive spirit.

Organizers noted that the event is a small but meaningful way to show appreciation for employees’ dedication to the Nation’s programs, services, and community.
