By Ardith Van Riper

The Ho-Chunk Nation opened Ho-Chunk Cinema, its first independently owned and operated movie theater, on Friday, November 21, in Tomah, WI.  A small ribbon-cutting ceremony took place on November 20.  The theater, located at 135 Wittig Road, features six screens with laser projection, surround sound speakers, and zero gravity recliner chairs.

The state-of-the-art cinema features the latest in film entertainment, and the remodeled facility is designed to become a premier destination for movie lovers.

The six-screen theater features laser projection, Dolby surround sound, and 364 zero gravity recliner seats with heated backs and swivel tray tables.

“Shout out to my team,” said Andrea ‘Pepper’ Estebo, Theater Manager, “They have done amazing! They have done things that they have never done before. Some of them have staged some of the curtains, they have laid tile flooring, just a number of jobs that they have stepped up to.”

The grand opening featured films Wicked: For Good, Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, The Running Man, Predator: Badlands, and Black Phone 2.

The Ho-Chunk Nation excitedly opens the doors again to welcome everyone back to the movies.

Initially, Ho-Chunk Cinema will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday each week.
