Ho-Chunk applique team dance wins at Fort Hall

A group of Ho-Chunk applique dancers teamed up to win third place in a team dance at the Shosone-Bannock annual powwow in Fort Hall, Idaho on August 10 through 13.
The applique team dance group was made up of Arianna Sheka, Tia Lonetree-Grey, Stephanie Swallow, and Vickie Hindsley.
“We just wanted to represent our Ho-Chunk Nation. A lot of people were snapping pictures as we used part of the Swan Dance in our routine,” Hindsley said.
“It sure was fun, and a proud feeling was felt.  We just had fun showing our style to them.”
It was the Fifty-fourth annual Shosone-Bannock Festival Powwow held on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation. The festival is held on the second weekend in August.
