Ho-Chunk Nation Pharmacies Welcome New Customers

The Ho-Chunk Nation Pharmacy Department is excited to welcome and provide quality care to all of our new customers with the Ho-Chunk Auxiant insurance changes. Effective March 1st 2018, all Ho-Chunk employees are required to use the Ho-Chunk pharmacies to fill their maintenance medications. Maintenance medications are taken regularly over a long period of time which generally help with conditions like diabetes, blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Another way to think about it is if you need to take it longer than 2 months on a regular basis it is likely a maintenance medication. Ho-chunk elders are excluded from the changes.
There are a few types of medications that are excluded from this requirement and are able to be filled at any pharmacy of your choice.
1. Medications that need to be started right away like pain medications or antibiotics for example.
2. Schedule 2 controlled substances which generally include strong pain medications and medications for attention deficit disorder (ADD). Some examples include Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Adderall, and Ritalin.

We understand that these locations may not be convenient for everyone and that is why we offer to mail prescriptions for FREE. We offer this service to all of our pharmacy customers. Just call at least 5 business days ahead of time in case we need to contact your doctor or order your medications. An added benefit for non-tribal customers with have the Ho-Chunk Auxiant insurance is when you fill a generic medication at the Ho-Chunk pharmacies there is a ZERO co-pay!
How do I transfer my prescriptions to a Ho-Chunk pharmacy?
1. Fill out the online “Transfer My Prescription” form on our website: Pharmacy.ho-chunk.com
2. Fill out the paper “Transfer My Prescription” form and drop it off, fax, or mail it to us
3. Call either Ho-chunk pharmacy location to give your information over the phone
