Ho-Chunk Nation employees took to the edges of Highway 54 on
Tuesday, May 14, for a common cause – to clean up the mess.
The effort was for the Adopt-A-Highway program, in which Ho-Chunk
employees are responsible for a section of the highway from the Ho-Chunk Powwow
Grounds to the Tribal Court buildings.
Employees took advantage of the sunshine and warmer weather
to participate in the cleanup process. There were 27 people who volunteered,
all who received a free T-shirt for their hard work, plus a lunch at noon.
Numerous garbage bags full of refuge were collected,
creating a cleaner and more attractive environment.
