Squashed Donuts

The Smith Brothers …oops, there are only two on the box but there’s one more …oops, there is not a woman with then nut there is …a smithwife.

Below the singing of frogs, a creed idles with each breath more of a panting waltz. The trees chant their own songs. Old grandma moon and stars are the rhythm and blues. The frogs, the creek, the moon and stars holding the musical rights of night. A roaring kind of a pleasant madness creates wreckage of a throat. Several hours slip by. There is no longer an orchestra. In the distant stillness, old man sun peeks from shadow-land. A full box of lozenge lay near the hem lock creek table bed. The Smith Brothers box remains unopened. Uh, matures love of noise and chatter with our dropping a medicated disc at a place of natural canvas. As sparkles of plenty take a deep whiff of an old Indian song , a smoothness of throats soon echo in beautiful melody with the Smith wife in serious meditation.

The Smith Brothers reach in their unpuckerd shirt pockets for cigarettes. It owns them, as blue smoke rolls out from each nostril, yellow donuts without candy sprinkles float about and fall with a loud clump. A kind of a climbing pain to light another smoke hits. The body contains a happiness. The donuts squash on the floor. Lenora thinks of brushing it off. But picks up a smoke like it is lipstick. Her uncolored mouth blows out curvy thoughts. A flirtation with the idea is on again. Chuck and Lenora meet eye to eye . Indigenous people, married folks change…a new knowledge heals the body. Their new knowledge does not separate then from the community but separated from a habit, divorced from chemicals. Bad and Greg share this quiet healing way. Their shirt pockets with slight wrinkles but empty to the core.

Below the singing frogs, the tadpoles journey on .The smoke puffs descend. A budding tree branch sways and an aroma of saved tobacco lingers within the confines of strength. Allow the knowledge to loved ones.
