Wisconsin Dells Ho-Chunk Children

Meet  NASA Astronaut Mark Lee

By Terrence Johnson

This past spring six children from Wisconsin Dells Indian Heights community received an opportunity to meet four time shuttle flight astronaut, Mark Lee. Former NASA astronaut and retired USAF Colonel holds the record for untethered flight in space. He’s a master at the free-flight backpack which was designed to help if a tethered astronaut breaks away during an extravehicular activity. He shared some testimony on the free-flight backpack and hand control which is similar to a joy stick.
The kids found Mark to very “down-to-earth” despite the fact that he has traveled over 13 million miles in space. Thanks for opening your home to us Mark, Paula and children. The Lord bless you all.
