As reported in several Chicago area media outlets, the Ho-Chunk Nation is seeking approval to build a multi-million dollar casino, hotel and entertainment complex in Lynwood, IL, south of Chicago.
A Celebration at Rainbow Casino
On April 30, 2004 Rainbow Casino near Nekoosa, WI celebrated the presence of three new table games at a ribbon cutting ceremony.
George Lewis to hold Presidential Forums
Responding to critics who suggest that his office is not listening to the people, Ho-Chunk Nation President George Lewis has scheduled a series of Presidential Forums that will allow members to learn more about the responsibilities and limitations of the Executive Branch.

Earth Day
The Ho-Chunk Nation DNR, USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and Wisconsin Waterfowl Association hosted an outdoor education day on April 22nd in recognition of Earth Day.

Cancer in Indian Country
Held April 27-28, 2994 at the Ho-Chunk Convention Center in Baraboo, the Ho-Chunk Nation sponsored Nac hokiki jawire Cancer Conference focused on "Fostering Cancer Awareness, Hope, Compassion & Support Among Tribal Members."

July 1, 2003 we began our program with 56 active participants.  As of April 30, 2004 we have 85 active participants, 145 terminated participants, and 74 other.
