Ho-Chunk Nation Members and High School Seniors We are in the process of creating an Apprenticeship Program with the Building and Construction Trades Council of South Central Wisconsin. Nothing had been formalized yet. We are researching 14 trades, as listed below. This, “earn while you learn”, type of Apprenticeship Program will take three to five years to accomplish. It will take serious commitment and dedicated people to achieve this task. The TERO Office is seeking high school seniors (18+) and Ho-Chunk members who would be interested and in what type of apprenticeship to begin with. If you are interested and or have further questions please contact the office. A high school diploma/GED and Valid Driver’s license are required. |

the We will start taking applications after May 11, 2004 All applications will be considered on a first come, first served basis. All youth will be afforded the opportunity to apply. If you do not receive a youth slot, your name will be put on a waiting list for a slot to open. ***
This year, the Youth will need to find their own worksite and In order to complete an application, the youth must submit the following required forms in order to be considered for the SYEP. If you were on Ho-Chunk Nation SYEP previously, you only need to complete an application 1. Application – completed, signed and dated by the youth and Parent/Guardian. 2. Work Permit – if required by the state in which you reside-new application only3. Copy of Birth Certificate – Obtain an original Birth Certificate from the Register of Deeds from the County office where you were born. 4. Copy of Social Security Card5. Proof of Tribal Enrollment6. Copy of Picture ID or Driver’s License or School ID or State ID7.

– Only 477 Upon receiving all required information at the Department of Labor, the application will be date stamped to verify when it was received. It will be the youth’s responsibility to contact the Department of Labor to verify if their application is received. Any incomplete applications will be put on hold. If you are 14 – 17 years old and have questions, please contact the Department of Labor at 1-800-294-9343 ext 1162 or 715 284-5877 and ask for Elva Brown or Audrey Littlewolf, who will determine who is eligible for the 477 Federal program. If you are 18 - 21 years old, contact Jennifer Kearnes - ext. 1137 to enroll in the 477 Federal program |

ATTENTION
The Ho-Chunk Nation's Tribal Employment Rights Office urges all tribal members, who are teens age 16 & up and a member of a federally recognized tribe to come in and register with the Job Skills Bank. The Department of Labor is planning a program with the Nation's enterprises, which will allow Teens to be employed while in classes or during the summer. The work schedules will include full-time, part-time, and weekend shifts. The criteria for eligibility is simple:
