As officials from the Wood County Park and Forestry Commission, members of the Prairie Band Potawatomi and Ho-Chunk Nations and other concerned citizens listened, three consulting firms detailed why their firms should be selected to help plan the future of Powers Bluff County Park near Arpin, WI.

The Ho-Chunk Nation Division of Natural Resources and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) are working together on various habitat restoration projects on tribal lands.

Bison on parade
Taking inventory of its stock and at the same time working to keep the animals healthy, personnel from throughout the Nation participated in the annual "Bison round-up", held December 10, 2002 at the Muscoda Farm.
The Nation's most important asset
Stressing "that our job is to see who are kids are going to be", Dr. Martin Brokenleg believes that although most children today are at risk, the risk factors can be reduced if and when society places a greater value on its children.
Indian Community School, including Ho-Chunk student, a hit in Albequerque
The Indian Community School of Milwaukee sent a delegation of students including Raul Reynosa, (Ho-Chunk) and staff to Albuquerque New Mexico to participate in the National Indian Education Association annual conference.
Stand Down benefits veterans
Area veterans got a hot meal this tear courtesy of Uncle Sam at the fifth annual Veterans Stand Down, held December 3, 2002 at the American Legion Hall in La Crosse, WI.
