Sections of Powers Bluff placed on National Register
Two and a half years filled with research, meetings and determination by members and staff of the Ho-Chunk and Prairie Band Potawatomi Nations, along with the effort of local residents, paid off on July 5, 2002 when an estimated 80 acres deemed "culturally significant" at Powers Bluff County Park near Arpin, WI was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Winnebago Tribe prevails in Federal Court
On July 10, 2002, the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska announced that a preliminary injunction has been issued in Federal Court preventing the State of Kansas from interfering with the Winnebago Tribe's gasoline sales to the Kickapoo Nation, the Sac & Fox Tribe and the Iowa Tribe.
Tae Kwon Do fighters with gold and silver medals
Anissa Flick won a gold medal at the Junior Olympics and Mike O'Brien won two silver medals along with Timothy Whiteagle and Instructor Clarence Pettibone Winning silver medals each at the Adult National Championships.
