Seeking new trust land
On May 21, 2002, representatives of the Ho-Chunk Nation met for the first time with the full Juneau (WI) County Board of Supervisors regarding the Nation's desire to place 272 acres of its property within the county into trust land status.

Hana's coming
Cloris A. Lowe Sr. has plans for a little comic strip character named Hana who is somewhat autobiographical, or as Mr. Lowe would say, "The Hana in the family is always getting into trouble, it's more me, and I'm Hana."

Memorial Day Pow-wow 2002
In a year that has brought the United States and the Ho-Chunk Nation grief over the September 11th attacks, we have found it possible to heal and move on.

Fighting for a cause
Currently a teacher at the Ho-Chunk Nation Study Center in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, tribal member Jean Day labels herself a political activist, "a regular human being, fighting for a cause".

Stream of time
In the early 1900 hundreds, a regular mode of transportation was the use of a horse and wagon, and walking to transport, goods and people.

Youths attend investment workshop
"Planning Your Journey" was the title of a presentation for high school juniors, seniors and recent high school graduates given by representatives of the A.G. Edwards & Sons Inc.

Wittenberg recognizes its students
With a sunny sky and a warm, June breeze creating an atmosphere of celebration, the Wittenberg Community honored area students at its annual "Student Recognition", held June 1, 2002 under the "big tent" outside the Patch-Chee-Nunk Building.
Clarence Pettibone - Media Go-Kart racer
Held annually at the Westby Nordic Speedway, the "Go-Kart Media Race" features members of the media and those they report on. Driving the five horsepower, alcohol or gas powered engines, the amateur drivers race 12 times around the track.
